George with MP Colin Mayes announced the funding of $33.7 million project for the widening of Highway 97A between Larkin Cross Road & Spallumcheen Industrial Park & adds an interchange with two roundabouts to improve safety. Local Motion

George Abbott was back in his hometown Friday to hand over a cheque for $81,581-funding from Local Motion program that will go towards a 1.2 kilometre multi-purpose trail along the perimeter of Finalyson Park in Sicamous. August 25, 2008.
Shuswap, MLA George Abbott presented a Local Motion grant for $49,569 to construct a 10 kilometre greenway connecting the communities of Blind Bay and White Lake to the Shuswap Trail Alliance. This greenway will be utilized for hiking, biking, horse back riding, cross country skiing and snowshoeing opportunities. This project will ultimately form part of a larger network of over 40 kilometres of trails in the Shuswap. August 25, 2008.
